5 cold and healthy drinks for summer

Summer has arrived and the craving for cold sweet drinks arrived with the summer. I feel like I always end up drinking more sugary drinks in the summer than the rest of the year. It just so satisfying to lie by the pool with a cold drink and a good book. What I usually forget is that I’m craving a cold drink – not a drink full of sugar but anyway that’s what I end up drinking.

Can you relate? Or do you just want to find some healthier alternatives to the usual cold summer drinks?

I am a huge fan of finding healthier alternatives to my favourite snacks, including drinks. Over the last two years, I have found my favourite healthier (listen: healthier – not necessarily complete healthy) non-sugar cold drinks. And now I want to share them with you!

1. Green Ice Tea

Ingredients:
¾ glass green tea – let it cool for 2-3 hours in the fridge
Ice cubes
Sweetener of choice (I use Stevia)

Fill your jar or glass half the way up with ice cubes and then add the cold tea and sweetener.

2. Iced Coffee

Ingredients:

¾ glass coffee – let it cool for 1-2 hours in the fridge
Coffee ice cubes (ice cubes made of coffee instead of water)
Milk of choice

Put 3-4 coffee ice cubes in your jar or glass and add the cold coffee and milk.

3. Pina Colada

Ingredients:
A handful of frozen pineapple
2,5 dL coconut water
Ice cubes

Blend it all together and enjoy.

4. Detox water

Ingredients:
2 slices of lemon
2 slices of orange
3 slices of cucumber
4 frozen raspberries
Ice cubes
Water

Put lemon, orange, cucumber and raspberries in a glass or jar and add ice cubes and water.

5. Chocolate milkshake

Ingredients:
1 banana
3 teaspoons raw cacao powder
Milk of choice
1 teaspoon Stevia
Ice cubes

Blend it all together and enjoy.

I hope this gave you some inspiration on how to drink delicious cold drinks without ingesting a lot of sugar this summer.

Stay happy, stay beautiful
– Ellie xoxo

*Disclaimer: I’m not a dietician and I cannot tell what to drink or not drink. A huge part of being healthy for me is to ingest less sugar and that is what I’ve centred this post about. If you have a different opinion that is totally fine. Let’s just respect each other.
